Our care

Care tailored to your needs

We recognise that each person is an individual with their own preferences, interests and personality, regardless of age or disability. Each person who stays at St Joseph’s has a care plan that is personalised to their needs and preferences. Care plans are planned carefully with the people we care for and those closest to them.

We also specialise in understanding the needs of people living with dementia. Our staff are trained in approaches that enable them to care appropriately for someone with dementia. Care is provided by a dedicated and compassionate staff team. Our two ‘memory lounges’ are also designed and decorated to reawaken happy memories of home.

Whether you stay with us for a few days or more permanently, we take time to get to know you so that we can provide the most appropriate care for you.

“The residents are an absolute pleasure to come and work for. Our manager says, ‘Always remember how you’d like your family to be looked after.’ And that’s what I strive for.”

Your care is our concern

Our values and ethos

St Joseph’s welcomes people from all religions and those with no particular faith. Our values are founded on unselfish love, the unique dignity of each person, regardless of their age or ability, and respect for people from all backgrounds. With a background in Catholic faith, we remain committed to caring for and upholding the dignity of all. Everyone is welcome at St Joseph’s.

Residents who wish to are supported to attend services. We are very fortunate to have some resident priests who celebrate daily Mass for those wishing to attend. Those who want to join in worship can do so in the chapel or take part in live streamed Mass from the comfort of their own rooms.

Many residents who are not religious have commented that the values and ethics are what makes St Joseph’s special.
